Hello and welcome to UK MODELS CLUB (London) 2009.

***** WHAT A ROLLERCOASTER YEAR *****

This year (2008) has been an interesting one - and not always for the best of reasons

The club lost its greatest asset in STEVE COLBY's studio but managed to find a new home at the Grange Guest House in Eascote, Middlesex, after a brief but disasterous turn at Adrian Pini's Studio. It was also a year when the club came close to crashing down through loss of members and .... lets be honest .... neglect. Anyway I think we have turned the corner now and things are starting to look up again.

A solid base to work from that the membership like has helped ... A good selection of models including some new faces has also made a difference. I was sad to have to take the action I did against the former boss of the club but I could nolonger sit by a see it be destroyed in such a manner after all the work and dedication the members have shown over the years.

Now I am still not well ... I have a faulty heart ... I have had a part of my spine removed and suffer from severe syatic pains down my right leg - but the show MUST go on. I am blessed now to have the help and support of not only you the members who have stood by me through out but I now have support from two new model/photographers in Sarit Joy Garrison and Rachael Foster.

So here's to 2009 - a year that I feel will be better despite what ever the economy and our incompetant Politicians and Bankers throw at us.

Cheers all and merry Christmas.

***** THE OLD MAN RETURNS *****

Sadly Michelle, due to circumstances beyond her control, has forced me to act in the interest of saving the club from total collapse. In short forcing a coup d’état and taking the club back fully into my own control. It pains me to do this to a friend but 'desperate times call for desperate measures' as the saying goes.

We live in an age of great uncertainty ..... when some of us don't even know where the next penny is coming from and things like photography are not seen as essentials to life .... which true to say it is not. That said the club has weathered the storm before and will do so again adapting to survive.

I hope you will join with me in thanking Michelle for her kind ways and wish her the best in finding herself through her woe's .... and who knows what the future will bring.

The future .... the undiscovered counrty ... for us all

I am back.

***** WE ARE BACK *****

After a short hiatus we have returned for the closing season of 2008 starting where we last finished at the Grange Guest House in Middlesex.

It would be fair to say that we have been lost since leaving our old friends at Steve Colby’s Studio and with the down turn in the economy we have had to re-calibrate the shoots to survive. Still we hope to tread water as this isn't the first down turn we have weathered ... BUT .... we do need all the suport we can get from our members. I look forward to seeing you all at the next shoot on september 7th 2008

***** Saying goodbye is never easy *****

After such a long time at Steve Colby’s Studio the UK Models Club 2008 has to relocate to a new studio. Yes it is an exciting time for us with huge potential but mixed with sadness as Steve Colby’s Studio has been our home for so long and it is never nice to say goodbye to friends ….

So we won’t ….

.… Rather I think to say thank you to everyone there and wish them all the best of luck for the future. To Sharon, Kay … to Steve and to our dear friend Keith who has been with us through thick and thin. I won’t to keep you in the loop as it were and you are always welcome to come along to anything we do.

Thank you always.

Thank you also to our new studio owner Adrian Pini for taking us all on and we look forward to many, many years with you just as we have with Steve Colby.

Love

Michelle Havill

***** There has been a changing of the guard *****

On the day we all celebrated eight years of leadership by Alan Headland at the October 2007 shoot Alan finally retired from his position entrusting everything into my hands.

Situated in a London studio, UK MODELS CLUB caters for photographers who are interested in photographing models in a relaxed and professional environment with top class models.
Shoots take place mostly on every first sunday of the month except when on location when this can either be on a saturday or over the weekend. It is a non-profit making club that manages to turn on a penny but still strives to attain quality at an affordable price.

All photographers are welcome and will be assured that this club is fundamentally different to all other club active in the UK at this moment. No 'Battle of the slides' or 'My picture is better than your picture' crap here....this is pure photography without the pretentious nose in the air attitude that sadly accompanies other clubs. It is a club for its members but where respect is shown to each other and of course the models.

Please take time to look around the site and please do contact me if you want to know more. For safety reasons reveal the studio location (other than to say it is near old street station), unless you are a model or a newly paid up member...this is to stop the 'IDIOT' element out there who sadly number in there 1000'S.

** Please note that the UK MODELS CLUB (London) 2007 has NOTHING, NO, NEVER WILL or HAS HAD IN THE PAST any connection WHATSOEVER with UK Models ltd. in Nottingham - hence the 'London' tag was added because of any possible confusion **

Once again welcome and I hope to see you at a shoot very soon - new members, new models and female photographers welcome.

CLICK HERE for a low down on the club's history ...from Its creation and previous management by Nick and Bev through to Alan Headland and beyond ...

Yours faithfully,

Michelle Havill.
